Scrap the Boys - Dec Challenge

Hi. I hope everyone had a great Christmas and is looking forward to starting the New Year. We had a great Christmas with family and it was great to see the excitement on the boys faces!
Now onto my entry for Scrap the Boys December challenge. This month was to use Christmas photos and create a LO using non traditional Christmas colours. I had some Websters waiting for Santa paper that I had bought about 2 years ago (LOL I like to collect) and I thought it was a perfect match for my photos. Jack and Tom had a great time making our traditional Christmas Shortbreads.

Thanks for looking and Have a happy and safe New Year. Nelle....

Kraft it up - November Challenge

Hi and welcome to another post. Today I am sharing with you my entry for the Kraft it up November Challenge. This month was all about showing a large amount of "white" space on your LO. I have used a gorgeous photo of my 3 boys and have used some Simple Stories paper. For the background I used a KaiserCraft bubble stamp. To make the flower I have used some corrugated cardboard and put this through my cuttlebug using a scallop die, I then fussy cut a flower from the Simple Stories range and finished it off with a button and twine. Very simple to do but I think it looks very effective.

Thanks for looking - Nelle.

Hi. Today I would like to share with you my LO for the October Sketch Challenge over at My Creative Sketches. It is a photo I absolutely adore of my middle son Tom on his first birthday. (He is about to turn 5!!). I have used papers from Studio Calico's Yearbook range. They are lovely and soft colours that really compliment the photo.

White with 1 - Oct challenge

Hi and welcome to another post. I would like to share with you my entry for the October Challenge over at another of my fav sites - White with 1. This month the LO had to be white + yellow + stars.
The LO is of my eldest son Jack just after he lost his two front teeth. I still think he looks pretty handsome even without them.
Thanks for looking - Nelle.

Scrap the Boys Sept Challenge

Hi. Today I am sharing with you my entry for the September Challenge over at Scrap the Boys. We had a splashed background sketch that we needed to use as our base. The LO is of my husband and my 2 eldest boys. It was taken in Melbourne last year when we went to the Eureka Tower Skydeck. It's hard to see but the MCG is actually in the background.

Bird is the word entry

Hi and welcome to another update. Today I am posting my entry for the great Bird is the word challenge site. The word to include in your title or journalling is "spirit". I decided to do a LO of middle son Tom. He has such a cheeky and fun spirit. This photo was taken not long after he started to wear his glasses - they have opened up a whole new world for him. I have used Simple Stories - Summer Fresh.

Thanks for looking - Nelle ; )

Scrap the boys - August Challenge

Hi. Another fantastic Challenge site I love it Scrap the Boys. Being a Mum to 3 boys this is a perfect site for me to participate in. Their August challenge was to create a LO using a piece of your child's artwork. I had the perfect photo for this. Tom has recently completed a self portrait at Kinder. He was so proud of his "Tom" that I just had to have his photo taken beside it. I think he did a great job and he even remembered to paint his glasses on!

Thanks for looking. Nelle.

Kraft it up challenge.

Hi, I have found a great site called Kraft it up (check them out here http://kraftitup.blogspot.com.au/ ). The idea of their challenges is to use Kraft paper as your base and then create according to their monthly challenge. August was all about texture and layering and using a sketch.
Here is the sketch
                                   AUGUST SKETCH

And here is my intepretation.

It is photos of my middle son Tom. He is so crazy and these photos really show his personality. He is dressed in a transformer dress up with a Hot Wheels apron and chefs hat and has pasta sauce all over his face. He is such a funny little boy!! Love him to bits.
I have used some texture paste, mists and Tim Holtz Rock Candy crackle. It was my first time playing with the crackle and it was fun! Below is a close up of the crackle.

Scrap the Boys - July challenge

This is my entry for the July Challenge for Scrap the Boys challenge site. I LOVE this site because the LO's you have to submit must be centred around BOY LO's. This well and truly suits me being the mum to 3 boys! This months theme was "school". I have scrapped Jack's recent Grade 1 photo. Hope you like it. Thanks for stopping by.
Here is a close up of the flag. I love twine at the moment and used a wooden skewer and wrapped twine around it for this effect.

Once Upon A Sketch entry

I really like entering sketch challenges and am a BIG fan of the wonderful Once Upon a Sketch site. This months challenge was to create your LO based on the sketch below and incorporate the word "FRIEND". Below is my take on the sketch. It is a photo of my 2 closest friends. We have been through secondary school together and lots of other stuff like weddings, babies and lots of fun. Thanks for looking.

the sketch

My take on it.
Here is a couple of close ups. The flowers I used were a mixture of Kaiser, Prima and American Crafts. I created a doily look around my circle by using my Martha Stewart punch and cutting the lace effect and layering it around the circle.

Thanks for looking. Nelle -xxx-
